Measure 15-224: Jackson County commissioners to be nonpartisan

  • Yes: 24,653 votes, 43.07%
  • No: 32,582 votes, 56.93%

This charter revision would have made county commissioners nonpartisan positions.

Measure 15-225: Increase the number of county commissioners to five

  • Yes: 25,931 votes, 45.34%
  • No: 31,260 votes, 54.66%

This charter revision would have increased the number of county commissioners from three to five.

Measure 15-226: Codify and reduce county commissioner salaries

  • Yes: 36,082 votes, 63.37%
  • No: 20,861 votes, 36.63%

This charter revision would have reduced salaries to $75,000 per year. Passage of this measure was contingent on the passage of Measure 15-225. Because Measure 15-225 failed, Measure 15-226 did not pass.

Measure 15-227: City of Ashland, amend charter to appoint the city recorder

  • Yes: 5,7840 votes, 79.38%
  • No: 1,517 votes, 20.62%

Measure 15-228: City of Ashland, amend charter, chief of police powers

  • Yes: 6,244 votes, 85.44%
  • No: 1,064 votes, 14.56%

The passage of this charter revision allows the chief of police to designate a sergeant at arms for city council meetings.

Measure 15-229: Evans Valley Rural Fire Protection District 6, 5-year local option tax

County Commissioner Position 2

  • Denise Krause (D): 16,257 votes, 98.63%
  • Randy Sparacino (R): 17,539 votes, 78.32%
  • David Arrasmith (R): 3,799 votes, 16.97%
  • Logan Vaughan (R): 931 votes, 4.16%

Sparacino and Krause will compete in the November general election.

District Attorney

  • Patrick Green: 26,384 votes, 52.79%
  • Alyssa Bartholomew: 23,502 votes, 47.03%

Other Elections

County Assessor Angela Stuhr and County Surveyor Scott Fein ran unopposed to win their respective races.

Joe Berggren ran unopposed and was elected as a City of Gold Hill Council Member.

Oregon House of Representatives

District 5

Democrat Rep. Pam Marsh ran unopposed in her Democratic primary. She received 10,125 votes and will face Republican Katherine Green (3,070 votes) in the November general election. Green defeated Sandra Abercrombie who received 1,713 votes in the Republican primary.

District 6

Republican Rep. Kim Wallan (5,315 votes) will face Democrat Lilia Caballero (3,971) in the November general election. Caballero defeated John Holm who received 351 votes in the Democratic primary.

District 56

Incumbent Rep. Emily McIntire, R-Eagle Point, ran unopposed in the Republican primary. She received 4,014 votes. No one ran in the Democrat primary.
