Congratulations to the Josephine County Republican-endorsed candidates. It was a sweep.
A resounding victory in the 2024 elections has ushered in a new era of leadership and change for our community. On November 5, 2024, voters made their voices heard, electing a dynamic group of candidates to foster progress, unity, and positive transformation across the city and state.
New City Council and Mayor Elected
We proudly announce that Clint Scherf has been elected Mayor, leading with a vision for a more vibrant and prosperous city. Joining him on the newly elected City Council are:
- Indra Nicholas (Ward 1)
- Victoria Marshall (Ward 2)
- Erich Schloegl (Ward 3)
- Kathleen Krohn (Ward 4)
This diverse, committed team is poised to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to our city’s challenges. Together, they will focus on improving local infrastructure, expanding opportunities for economic growth, and ensuring a robust and inclusive community for all residents.
County Commissioners
In the race for County Commissioner, Chris Barnett and Ron Smith have emerged victorious. They bring a shared commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and enhancing the quality of life for all county residents. Their leadership will be essential in shaping our region’s thriving and sustainable future.
State Leaders
At the state level, voters overwhelmingly chose leaders committed to representing our community’s values and priorities.
- Noah Robinson has been elected as State Senator, bringing a strong track record of advocating for policies that benefit families, businesses, and the environment.
- Dwayne Yunker and Alek Skarlatos were elected to the State House of Representatives, promising to be steadfast champions of public safety, economic opportunity, and government reform.
New County Treasurer
Mark DeYoung will serve as the new County Treasurer in another significant win. His commitment to fiscal discipline and responsible budgeting will be vital to ensuring our county’s long-term stability and prosperity.
A ‘Mandate for change’
“This victory represents more than just a set of elections,” said Clint Scherf, newly elected Mayor. “It’s a mandate for change, revitalizing our city, supporting our families, and creating a more prosperous future. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
This new wave of leadership brings a collective vision for progress, focusing on improving services, expanding local job opportunities, making government more transparent, and championing policies that reflect the people’s will.
As these new leaders take office, their priorities will include:
